Voting Rights Towards Asians
Every American citizen wants to go and vote to express their opinions on the political stage. However, not everyone has their “rights”. There are minorities such as African Americans and Hispanics whose rights are being violated every day in modern society. There is a group of people that becomes unspoken and that is towards the Asian American. Asian Americans are also falling under the same treatment as many other minority groups but have not been heard by others in society. The two genres that I will be discussing based on the “rights” of Asian Americans will be through art and poetry.
Figure 1 – (picture shown in class)

Figure 1 shows an picture that shows how Asians are being mistreated and condemned of their voting rights. Oftenly in the political stage, politicians will attempt to reach out to the African Americans or the Latinos to appeal the minorities. However, it is not very often that the Asian communities are being reached out, although they are considered as minorities. Some reason could fall under their defining stereotypes. One particular stereotype is their language barrier. Oftenly, the “language barrier” defines that Asians barely know the English language and how they are not aware of the American culture. As a result of this inputted stereotype, Americans have claimed that they are not “eligible” to vote at all.
Meanwhile for the other Americans, they have the right to vote even though the voting rights have promoted all races can vote. Within the art that is shown in Figure 1, the Americans gains a boost from voting. Seemingly enough, their votes matter more than other Americans. Just the name minorities already reveals about how America sees other races as. Other Americans are blocking the privileges of other Americans due to their race and this has become the embodiment of America. Overall, the illustration of this picture indicates how Americans have their qualities to vote based on their qualification.

Figure 2:
“In America
Voting Rights Are Corrupted…
From Americans”
Melson Heo
From Figure 2, it indicates a poem (haiku) that was developed based on voting rights. Although Haikus are based on a nature, Haiku is a Japanese cultural idea. Applying a Haiku will indicate the Asian American audience even further and how America has been corrupted. The poem may not express any external meaning but it indicates the country reflection on its people. America has been corrupted with the social norms to the point where there are limits presented within the political stage. With these limits, it indicates that the voting rights have no influence on people’s behavior on other races.
As these corruptions continue to rise, they become a threat to human right. With the right that have been developed from history, this has shown that history has not changed. Although rights have been placed strictly by the authorities, American people have not truly reflected the aspect of these rights.
